21st Century Skills Training Reflection on the Fifth Week of the Traning We are almost done!! This week was our 5th week, and we only have one week left.  5th week was full of new websites, and we met lots of beneficial tools for teaching the English language.  So today, I am here with incredible websites for you.  Our trainer Melda Yılmaz stared first with Edpuzzle.  Edpuzzle is a website that supplies you turn a video into an interactive material for your lesson. Basically, you search and find a video that you want your students to watch, and for checking their comprehension, you put some questions into this video. You can add different types of questions to your video like multiple-choice, open-ended, or you can record your own voice for a question. The website has access to Youtube, so you can easily find a video and use it in Edpuzzle. Also, you can see students' answers too. I think this website is so efficient for giving homework. Via Edpuzzle, students can bo...

21st Century Skills Traning Reflection on the Fourth Week of the Traning   Helloo guyss!!! This week our readings were  Technology in the Classroom by Dudeney, & Hockley  and The Impact of Technology on How Instructors Teach and How Students Learn by Sarah Elaine Eaton. So our reflection questions were about these articles. The main focuses of the articles were how we can teach by using technology, what kind of effect the technology has on students.  We read our articles and wrote our answers to reflection questions before our training section. And this week's section we started with discussing these reflection questions. Again it was a group activity because I believe our trainer wants to teach us how we should collaborate and interact in a group, what kind of roles we have in a group and how we can organize and share our thoughts and opinions in a group.  After our group discussion, our trainer made a presentation to us which is about 'Digital Literacy'....

21st Century Skills Training Reflection on 3rd Week of the Training   This week I am here with a new topic from our training program!! This week we discussed 'Digital Literacy'.  In the first session of our training, we made a matching activity on digitals skills. Our trainer Melda Yılmaz used 'word wall' web-site for that. The website did not just present you with the words and their meanings. It gives a small picture related to the word and this picture is next to the word, so you can contextualize this specific term. And all you have to is finding the meaning among other meanings, drag and drop the word to the meaning.  Besides that, you can see your score when you complete the activity. What your score and the others are all presented in a chart. Simultaneously we all did the activity and our trainer could see the results and we could see everyone's score too.  Using Word wall was really good, it was efficient and practical. Even if we did individual work we can...

21st Century Skills Traning Reflection on the Second Week of the Traning We are keeping progress!! The second week of our training is done. We have enjoyed so much and created lots of ideas.  This week our main concerns were; Collaboration and English Language Teacher as a native speaker of English or a non-native speaker of  English.  In the first session, we did lots of group works, our trainer Melda Yılmaz showed us a picture which is an angel shape formed by a lot of words. She said these words are from a song and asked us to guess what might be the song about. She posted out guesses via Linoit. There were lots of creative ideas about the song. Then she wanted us to divide into groups and choose at least 15 words from the picture and write a story about the song. After we wrote our stories we posted them on Linoit and read our stories. There were lots of crazy stories and ideas about the song and we have enjoyed a lot.  Finally, she made us listened to the...

21st Century Skills Traning Reflection on the First Week of the Training We were invited to participate in a research study titled “Integrating 21st Century Skills Training With Project-Based Learning to Cultivate EFL Pre-service Teachers’ Professional Skills”, carried out by Melda Yılmaz as part of Bahçeşehir University English Language Education Ph.D Programme in Istanbul, Turkey. And now, we are a part of this study that will bring great opportunities and benefits to us, the English teachers of the future. Here is my reflection from the first week of our training.  In our first session, we talked about ' Critical Thinking'. What is critical thinking? Who are the weak critical thinkers and who are the strong ones?  Critical thinking  is a skill that includes thinking, analyzing everything in a clear, rational, and deep way. Strong critical thinkers have some characteristics like inquisitiveness, investigation, observation, analyzing, creativity, evaluation, open-mi...

HP Reveal

Hi everyone today I want to talk about HP Reveal !! HP Reveal is an application which work with Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality is so creative , enjoyable and beneficial for language learning.  AR is  a valuable tool for learners interested in learning through real-world immersion in a culture, country , language regardless of  barriers.   When we give students videoes, pictures and other stuff we can make them interest in activities but in a less curious but when we give them real things they certainly will interest , eager, collobrative, worry about what is going on how can they do and apply this stuff. AR can do this.  Here I tried mak pictures real by using HP Reveal. It is so simple you just download it take a photo that you want to show and students scan this photos and suddenly photo become  a real one .  Please do this ang make your students enjoy while using language. HAVE FUN!!

Learning with Games

HII!! Dear teachers and parents, today I am here for sharing my opinions about a problematic issue for ; this is Gaming !   As we all know children spend their time too much with playing games in internet. You think that all these games are so wasteful, bad and harmful for childrens. But I have an opinion which is definitely opposite to this thought. Gaming is so important, benefial , creative for children. While children play a game in computer or their tablet they can learn , share a lof of things. As a language teaching candidate we are planning to use gaming in our lessons because it gives children a lot of opportunities to learn a language. Firstly they start learning with a motivation because they will do what they love and want probably most of the time. Secondly while playing games they are interactive , ready to use their mind immediately, they are in a cooperative , collobarative area. And as all of us know these are so important. As they love doing interest...
